Cub Cadet restore....sorta
as i stated in my thread about my 108 the local fair starts on sunday. ive been waiting on custom decals from maple hunter to begin the paint job on my sons cadet 111, finally last thursday i got the call that they were ready to ship. i started this project on monday with dis assembly of the tractor, tuesday was spent trying to get one of the rear wheels off so i lost a day to that ,wednesday i got it all sandblasted and fixed a small crack in the new old stock fiberglass hood. this evening i started off with setting up the white parts on my parts rack and painting them, once they were painted i put the booth into bake which takes it up to 160 degrees for 30 minutes. once it came out of bake i rolled out the rack and set up the yellow parts and got them painted. heres some pics of how it looked when i started and how it looks now.

Are you sure that's how your supposed to set it up to paint? Where is the grass, how do the bugs get in the wet paint?

i was gonna make a wise crack about it not turning out right cause i didnt paint it on grass but i figured id play nice.

my parents own it, i do all the bodywork and painting for the collision shop and the tractor restoration shop.

Around these parts the mechanics usually have the poorest running vehicles. And the body men have the crappiest paint job vehicles. |

the same is true around here, thats why i drive a new truck that way i dont have to work on it or paint it. when it comes to cub its a different story, i figure the smoother and shinier the paint is the easier it is to clean the grass off it.
