Has anyone tried this? Can it be done and how much trouble would it be?

If you are any good with metal, should be no problem.

Does anyone have a picture of the frame for a snowplow on a super?

The frame on the supers is longer, but not wider. I don't see any reason why you couldn't just lengthen the braces that run to the back. The blades for the supers were a completely different design. Looking at those wouldn't help you much. Unless you want to make a whole new sub-assembly.

cut the slotted ears off the back end of the blade frame and add a piece to lengthen the frame [around 4 inches if I remember correctly] and weld the ears back on wouldn't hurt to plate the frame where it is spliced to reinforce it and add a cross brace between the frame ears...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
