Your project sure looks familiar. I'm in the process of adapting a Johnson 24 loader to use on a Cub Super.
I may steal one of your ideas and add a front subframe for additional strength. I think a loader will be the most used accessory on a garden tractor. The biggest challenge will be sensible as to what it will pick up! Looks good it will be interesting to see it done. Tim

Spud i remember when i had the 450 on it when i lifted it the hood would move at the dash over 1/2 inch. thats why i put the forward section in there. i weigh 250 and was hopping on the mainframe while watching the dash and hood area and no movement whatsoever so mission accomplished there tractor seems very stiff so far if i break a spindle looks like ill be fabbing up some heavier ones. my brother has a wheel horse d250 with loader on it we shimmed the pump relief and have lifted round bales with it in a pinch those spindles took it so im hopefull at least

started to mount and plumb the pump and control valve. engine mount has hole in proper place for the pressure line on pump but not big enuff had to enlarge hole a little. the control valve im using is a john deere 3 spool off of a h3 tractor has float and such also has 2 outlets one says out the other says byd which is power beyondthe regular out is plugged and the beyond has a fitting for a hose. can i swap the plug to the beyond and fitting to the out as the out is in a better place for plumbing and i dont need the beyond rite now

well Sam those joints are steering joints from a cyclops just needed to add a few balls to them. only drawback is there is no grease zerks in the shafts which means i have to take apart to grease but can also inspect at the same time. i now have a shaft from a 1440 but thats too short also would need to be stretched but then i would have zerks. steering joint thing works fine and you can buy them pretty cheap compared to the real driveshaft ones. tha sleeve on the shaft is some DOM tube i had laying around actually had a perfect press fit to shafts worked out great.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
