Default 1450 First Day back to work

Well after finishing the make over of my 1450, my wife told me I should clean up the 44A deck before hooking that up to the tractor. So I tore that apart over the last 2 weeks. Sanded painted and replaced a few worn parts.

This morning I got the last few parts. Installed them and hooked up the deck to the tractor.

I am proud to report that she cut her first 2 acres of grass with out any issues. Ran real smooth never dropping below 3540 rpms even on small hills. No loss of oil, trans fluid etc.. Just a great ride!!!

You just can't beat a old cub cadet

Attached is a picture of her after cutting the grass.

Thanks for the Kudo's everyone!

It sure is a good feeling getting to see the results after many hours of work on her. Even better is putting her back to work at what she was made to do at peak performance.

Turbo Archie:

The decals on the tractor are all original most were in good shape. The small IH on the back was removed and some black decal by the side panel thumb screws and black strip on the front were in bad shape and removed.

New decals order for the tractor off of ebay.

Mowing Deck decals all new from local dealer, he had a box of misc decals. Got all of them for $1 (of coarse I spent a lot of time there over the last few weeks)

Tubbyfirefighter:

Your 1450 will turn out great and you will love the model as well!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
