Default 982 Power Blade & Front Hydraulics Questions

Will a power front blade from a 2182 bolt onto a 982 and function properly? Also, what is required to add front hydraulics to the 982? Thanks.

The blade should fit on no problem. As far as the hydraulic outlets go I'm not sure but you need a different valve, lines, the operating handle/linkege. hope it helps

Welcome to OCC WOOS1. For front hydraulics you will need a double hydraulic lever setup and wet lines to run to the front.

xtrememotorworks.com has the line kit, I can't remember if they have the complete valve set up or not. You might put an add in our Wanted section, or give our Sponsors at the top of the page a call or email and describe your needs. They may be able to set you up with everything.

Woosi, welcome to the site. I just bought a new still in box 54 inch snow dozer blade.
I am mounting it to my 1984 982 , The Manual that is on this site is for the old 54 inch blade it is not the same as the blade for a 1282 , The newer blade setup has a diff, sub frame and diff, rear anchor plates. As for hyd setup my 982 has front ports but I do not have the piston . as long as you change the anchor plates it all fits the same .I will post pic when done. IT IS ONE HEAVY BUGGER.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
