Sprayer trailer I built from scrap metal
.
I was trying to decide between building a 3 point mount bracket for my new sprayer or a trailer. The trailer seemed like the best option for many reasons. The trailer was built with scrap metal that I've collected throughout the years. The only things I had to buy was a 5/8" steel rod for the axle and some cheap harbor freight tires for $4.00 each which were actually bought about 3 years ago. At first I was thinking about putting a quick disconnect on the pump so I could use a coiled hose when driving or the longer hose that came with it for when I park and spray. The quick disconnects would allow me to swap hoses out in seconds, but instead I've decided to build a hose reel (from scrap metal) in front of tank and just use the hose that came with the sprayer. Also pictured is a cool trick for drilling the steel rod when you're poor like me and don't have fancy tools. I've also used a heavier version of this clamp and a hole saw to make the fish mouth when welding one tube to another, just remove the pilot bit and clamp the pipe with a board between it and the drill press for the hole saw to go into. .

Agreed! I need to build something like this. I have a tank, just need a pump and something to spray with.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! I haven't sprayed any chemicals yet, but I've tested it with water and I can tell this will make weed control so much easier this year. I usually spend 40 minutes on the mower and 50 minutes with the Cub Cadet string trimmer. I wish I had this trailer years ago lol. I really wanted to paint the trailer Cub yellow, but I have over a dozen cans of black already so I reluctantly sprayed it with them. At rural king I saw they had a 1 gallon per hour pump for $40 and a decent sprayer wand for $22, or the whole 15 gallon tank on sale for $61 with everything (normal price was $80)

looks good. It is time for sprayers again. sigh...
Very creative on the bar drilling. I use a HF v block for my rod holes. Center drill to start it then change to drill bit. Don't have to mess with clamping. If no center drill then grind a little flat spot for the bit to start on. |

Yep. Makes round things much easier to work. Also helps with clamping round things together. When fabricating set on a pipe gives a flat spot for a clamp to hold it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
