Napa 1410. The 1084 is similar.... but it isn't a hydraulic filter. They are the same physical size, so it's the shafts fault it was hitting.

Ok, I will get a 1410, and I will look tomorrow and see what parts I need.

You keep saying that, but we've already told you what you need..... Pretty much a whole new driveline.

You got a picture of the front drive hub? Id like to see the wear on that, but yes what all have said new driveline. That machine has seen alot of years; good of you to catch it in time before major damage.

Getting expensive, isn't it??
With a great Cub like a 149, Id bite the bullet and spend whatever is needed to make things truly right. You will be rewarded with a great tractor that will give may years of service. I am in the process of doing the same with a 149 equipped with a Danco front end loader. |

Hydro Filter 149
J-Mech, You stated the correct hydro filter for the 149 was a NAPA 1410. I bought the 1084 for my 149. After looking at the ccc cross reference sheet, I see a hydro filter for a auto gear pump and a 1410 filter. Will the 1084 filter work ok for my 149 or should I exchange it for the 1410? Thanks and have a great day.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
