Haban 60" yellow and white?
Hey guys,
I have a 374 Haban built 60" deck that came with my 1990 model 1782. It's painted different than any other I've ever seen. All of the others I've ever seen were solid white or the later ones were solid yellow. The front tunnel portion, end caps, and belt covers are all painted white. The flat deck portion, spindles, pulleys, deflector chute and rear wheel brackets are all yellow. It appears to be factory done.. Still has the original decals and I can't find any traces of white under the yellow, nor yellow under the white. The original owner has verified that this is the way the dealer delivered it. Does anybody else have one painted like this? I'm going to repaint it soon and was thinking I would put it back this way. It's not important but I was just curious if anyone had seen another one painted this way? Thanks

I've never seen one painted as you describe. How about posting a pic?

I am without a camera at the moment, but maybe I can snag my wifes smart phone and try to teach a dummy to use it! My fingers don't do well with touchscreens. I just can't believe they would've taken the time to paint it that way at the factory... but it sure does seem like they did. I am guessing that haban painted them before they shipped to cub cadet? It is tagged as a Cub Cadet 190-374-100.

Pretty sure it should be all white. The 190-374-100 was used on the early 1782 and older tractors like the 2072's

Maybe it is a unit that was assembled using the older white parts with the newer yellow parts?
i.e. the factory had more white parts on hand and used them up on the earliest of the new yellow units? |

Looks like it's been repainted to me. If you look close at the tag it looks like it was masked off for paint. Double07 those decks are a single piece fabricated deck so it's not like they would paint part of it white and part of it yellow. It does looks cool the way it's done.

Voting for a repaint also. Looks like the pieces for the front gauge wheels also were painted, I think they were originally silver (probably zinc plated). Maybe the dealer did the repaint for some reason before the guy you bought it from ever saw it.

Oh well... we will probably never know the real story... what baffles me is that there is no trace of white paint anywhere under the yellow... there was no paint at all under the rear hanger bracket...
John, the front casters and brackets are zinc or silver cad plated.. they were removed in the pictures...the white portions are part of the main frame Tim, don't worry I wont paint it green or pink!! esp not green!! This one is a worker so Im not worried about the "correct" police.... but I do kind of like it so it will go back like it is.. This was my first Haban so I was curious what everybody thought... I know none of it really matters. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions... appreciated as always

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
