My red-neck blade lift
I wanted a quick, simple, temporary, yet sufficient way to lift my blade.
I took out the grill and made this frame to "pinch" the front end and mount a winch. He's a view under the hood where the frame mounts to the inside of the front end. And a view from the front. I just wrapped a chain around it to attach the winch cable. The winch is a Harbor Freight remote control unit. I disabled the remote function and wired it to a rocker switch with a kill switch. |

Looks like it will work good and probably lift higher than the original lift.
Nice work.

Works for me, I may do something along the same lines for a rear lift on my 71/121 project

I have the same style winch from HF.
How did you go about disableing the remote switch? My FOB no longer works and the winch is no good without it working, and I no not how to bypass the remote switch. |

lonnyb, I "Googled" it and found the same winch I have. A guy explained how to do it on his winch. It was a while ago, I'd have to look it up again myself.

Thats a pretty neat idea! I have pondered the idea of putting a winch on a cc, if nothing else for retrieval of doa machinery and such.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
