front weight bar with mule drive
Need some thoughts and opinions on combining the two to use on my "parts 100"
I already have the weight bar for the front and a mule drive that needs work and was thinking that i would just cut the old mule drive to fit the weight bar so i wouldn't have to remove and replace possibly damaging paint each time that is done. I am concerned that when plowing that with the mule drive hanging down it will get hung up on the ground a bit, subframe will be removed at the pin of course when plowing. It will hang an additional 3 inches lower but if you measure 6 inches from the ground up (trying to simulate it in the trench)it would clear but nearly hitting. Has anyone plowed with their mule drive on and had trouble?

I have plowed with my 100 with a Brinly 10" and the front mule drive on (I couldn't get one of the screws out ) and had no problems at all. I have since removed the screw and taken it off as I won't be mowing with it.
Good luck, David |

I'm planning to bolt my 100's weight bracket to the same bolts that hold the front grill on the frame.
Main reason is clearance issues like you had post.

Something more like this? I can still use the mule drive and keep the weights on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
