Default Narrow vs. wide frame

I am looking for a snow blade for my 129. What I need to know is how to tell the narrow from the wide frame. I am sure I can modify the narrow to work as I spent a lot of years in a fab shop, but knowing what I am buying is important to. I let one go by a few months ago at a online auction for 85.00 or so, should have jumped on it. They are hard to find around here in central Michigan.

You have a wide frame tractor. I moved your post to the implements section. I'm sure someone will answer your questions.

The wide frame subframe has a curl up at the back of it like this. Where the narrow frame is straight.

Just to add to what Mark has already said, the WF "arms" of the subframe also bend back together and get narrow at the end so that they can fit up under the frame on the rock shaft and the NF "arms" of the subframe are wide at the end and rest on the rods of the footrest.

Michigan is full of Cub stuff. Maybe you can't find one in your backyard, 3 doors down.... but if you can't find a blade, you aren't looking.

Well, you are right there are none 3 doors down and in truth I have not had the time to look hard for one. I have a 2550 with a snow blower so the blade is not a high priority.
Thank You all for the response.

They are quite plentiful in my area!! However, shipping would probably be cost prohibitive.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
