I got my 450 snowblower on my 1812 tonight. My question is can you get more lift on the blower ? I am only getting 2-3 inches. Is the the correct lift height? thnx Rob

Short answer no. You can, but you have to change/make parts. They just don't lift very high with the factory parts. Poor design.

I just hooked up my 450 on the 982 this morning just to make sure everything is in working order. I get 5" of lift on it. I had it on the 782 the other year and was only getting 2 1/2". Installed way easier on the 982 than the 782. Definitely suited better for a SGT. Obviously you want it in the top mounting hole on the lift brackets too.

Hmm, they must've made updates on the later models. Got this one from the original owner and it never had many hours put on it. He never said anything about getting aftermarket brackets or fabbing his own but it's a possibility.

I drilled another hole above the one on my lift arms and I put the pin through the new hole. I get 3-4" of lift.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
