Rockshaft Arms 1650 vs. 1572
I installed an older QA42 snow thrower on my 1572 today and went to connect the lift rod and finally realized the rockshaft arms on all my older cubs i.e. 1650 point upwards, but on my 1572 it points downwards. Is this by design on the 1572, or did a previous owner switch the orientation from pointing upwards to downwards on my 1572?
I ended up going to a cable lift that goes to the a pulley I installed off the rear axle, and then comes back to the rockshaft arm in order to get lift. I will take some pictures and add them this afternoon to better show what I mean.

Sounds like the rockshaft was installed upside down.

You connect the lift rod to the rockshaft arm sticking out the right side next to the cam lock knob.
Tim, I do not think you can put that on upside down but if so ,knock out the pins and point er up!

as far as I know, all the supers had the arm at the bottom.

Rockshaft pushes forward instead of pulling backwards
Guys, thx for the replies to confirm the 1572 Rockshaft Arm is supposed to point downwards. Forgive my ignorance, but as in the attached picture when the arm pints down it pushes forward like the green arrow, not pulling backwards like the red arrow (e.g. my wide frame 1650).
On the 1572 it doesn't appear to have a hole in the internal Rockshaft arm to use the lockout pin like the older wide frames where you could get both push and pull by inserting the lock out pin. With the 1572 having a free floating Rockshaft, it doesn't pull backwards which is needed to lift my snowblower. QUESTION: Is there a way to Lock Out the 1572 Rockshaft arms so I get both push and pull?

Problem is that you are supposed to use a 450 blower on that tractor. The pulley and cable that you rigged up may be the best way to go.
I am going to put this in the implements section. I think you'll get more help there.
