What about the PTO and disengaging it stop the stalling? Most seem to be too busy ridiculing me to comment on that.
Sorry, it is hard to determine gender behind a alias. I will give you the extra effort.

The 2135 has a Kohler Engine is that has a "Magneto Ignition System", meaning it does not need the 12VDC battery power to operate the engine. Thus the engine and PTO have NO connection, as far as, electrical is concerned.

Your sympton sounds like you have a Fuel Delivery problem. Meaning there is some issue between the Fuel Tank and the Engine Combustion Chamber, that the engine is being fuel starved.

There is some common things to look for. First, and foremost, there is a Fuel Filter, in the fuel line, it may have become partially plugged. These are inexpensive and should be changed periodically. Replace the Fuel Filter. The Fuel Filter is KH-25-050-03. It is a Kohler Part and is available from Cub Cadet, or Kohler Dealers locally. You can always buy this from numerous places online.

Start with that first, and post back.

Perhaps if you ask me some more questions I may be able to answer or find out if I can get an answer.

I'm not a expert ... just an old woman trying to keep an old tractor going because I can't afford another one.
Sorry you feel that way, I like "old women".
Try and remove the fuel line at the carb to see what kind of flow you have. Depending on the filter, you may be able to see particles swirling around inside as it's flowing. If it's flowing.

Sorry but it's pretty rare we encounter a old lady doing mechanic, normally a family member take care of it for them, you have to admit you are a pretty rare bird lady!

Lets put that behind us and try to focus on getting your garden tractor back to work! Many things can cause your engine to die under load, Roland and Todd already give you a good hint and even a part number, this doesn't mean they nail it, you need to do your own work, since you already clean your carburetor I suggest you do a simple tune up(New air filter/sparkplug/gas filter/oil change) just to keep as Jonathan says few "Gremlins" out of the equation.

Then come the less funny part....Diagnosing the problems! Good gas flow? Right air/gas mix setting on the carb? Good compression? Good spark? Add few more to the list and your getting on the right track! I let " Karmack the Magnificent" (I like that one LOL) show you his magic and wish you and your Cub Cadet a long life!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
