Default Only one in the country

This morning I was browsing ebay and found an auction for a NOS steering wheel cap and emblem for the 72 series, the supers anyway. It was listed as buy now for $175.00 and the add stated it was the only one left in the country. I sent the seller the following picture of my collection and the auction was ended 10 minutes later. I would be willing to let them go for the bargain basement price of $170.00 each.

I can't believe that this guy was asking $175 for one. He told me he would make me an offer tomorrow. They are not for sale one for each super and two spares just in case.

Unless yours are listed for sale somewhere it very well could be the only one left in the country.

Good point. So if it is the only one what's it worth. $35 seems cheap for the only one. I don't think I'd agree with $175. I guess it's worth whatever some one would pay for it. Who knows? Some how I think Lou would go a little higher than $5 on these.

They still make the plastic caps. I wonder if Maple Hunter could remake the decal?

Oak it is not a flat decal. A couple years ago before I found my stash I had a sign guy print some flat ones for me. They came out pretty good but still not like OEM . There are places that make the thicker emblem type basically a decal covered by a clear rubbery layer. I think done in small amounts would be cost prohibitive.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
