9And some final shots of the night. Oh, 2.25 gallons of hytran and not on the stick yet? The case was still giving up strawberry milk looking oil in one of those pictures. I have rolled that up/down and all around and still was getting the milky stuff. And one of the IH 1086 MFD. It is an add on unit my dad put on in 1981 to gain traction plowing. Was his biggest tractor at the time. It is an Elwood mechanical unit. When they need parts they use parts books and number from IH 3688's. They broke a big casting a few years ago. Got the last one in the country. If anything else breaks, the 2wd axel is still in storage and will go back on. There is a drive shaft that comes forward from the transmission up the left side of frame to the front unit. They put axel mount duals on it a few years ago to use it for planting corn. But decided after one year to get something with power shift transmission. Ended up with a 7250.

I've never had any trouble getting them to line up. I leave the bolts that go through the arms and the tranny mounts a little loose until everything is lined up then tighten all the bolts.

Yup. Once I realized I had never loosed the left side "Y" ( forward wishbone type bracket) from the case- things got a whole easier.

Looking good! What do you use for the frame paint paint? Those brackets are on my list also, with the bucket hanging on the front I'm exceeding the limits of what the oem setup can take.

1811woody, it was all rattle can. I used 3 coats of the Rustoleum 2x Ultra Gloss Clear over all of it also. I am no painter. I try. I loathe the prep work. I try not to rush the painting to avoid drips and runs but they happen. Most of this was accomplished this week because I am on vacation. The fender pan is a mess and require more energy than I have right now. The misses has been tolerant this week but patience is thin with the two young'ins going wild and me painting till midnight a couple nights. The rods all we're Rustoleum flat black without the gloss clear, The Xtreme braces are Rustoleum gloss black with the same primer and clear. I decided against painting the rear end. Not saying it is the right color. It will work for me.

lol, I get that. I'm not a painter either I'm unsure of the whole needed items and mixing process and the prep pretty much is a P.I.T.A. I'm held up on my build because the frame was in worse shape then I had time for right now including figuring out the painting. I may go spray bombs I will see. Between harbor freight and eastwood I bought a small soda blaster setup to help with the prep work, now if the weather would cooperate enough to do the blasting

Got the brakes adjusted. Lift control knob on. The frame brackets under the seat support on. Took the body bag off the front. One brake lining on right rear interior pad is scrubbing the rivet. That will need attention someday. Afraid not more will be done today. And Anniversary tomorrow so won't have time in the shop when I am carrying her bags and calling her pretty.. Hoping to hit it hard on Sunday.

It took me for ever to clean these parts up. The seat pan was a nightmare. Finaly decided to paint the bottom first and focus on the top side later. Had no idea how to position it to comfortably shoot both sides. To all those people that routine dismantle and paint lawn mowers....... Kudos to you because this really is a pain in the a$$!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
