Default Cub 1641 Hunting Rig

This is my 1641 that I built to take hunting here in Washington State. A guy owed me $400 and I accepted the Cub, a JD trailer, mower deck, roller, box blade, brush rake, seed spreader, a set of Turf tires and standard tractor tires with wheelweights to settle the bill. The 16 hp B&S V-twin ran poorly, but it was just bad maintainance and I toyed with it a bit now it runs just fine......we use it for everything from gardening to light duty logging.
I made the bumper out of 1 1/2 inch I-beam and bracketed it into the factory mounting areas on the frame. I wanted the winch to fall trees and it beats trying to push the Cub if I get stuck 5 miles from Nowhere. The 1 inch flatbar brushguard save my legs a bit and I added the lights because it just looked like it needed them. I built a dump box that fits on the 3point (not in picture). Mirrors are 1960's era gutter mounts for when you got a U'all-Haul.
Upcoming work includes adding a CB Radio (Country Cellphone) and a PTO-driven Chevy alternator driving a second battery on a seperate curcuit that I will move the winch and lights over to, keeping the factory system stock.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
