I LIKE IT!!! Now whats up with the rear axles?? I looked back a page or so and everything looked normal. Now it appears you have long axles like a farm tractor? You rig up adjustable axles or are they "for looks". Or are my eyeballs playing tricks on me?

Yeah, well normally the word "normal" doesn't pop up too often when discussions of me are going on, lol. I saw a tractor somewhere on the web with "faux" big tractor axles and liked the look, so I whipped up a pair. Its flat 11 gauge back drilled to slide over the studs,(I converted it to studs from wheel bolts) with a 2 inch tube. I built the rims to 11 inches wide with 2.5 back spacing instead of the normal super rims, so it gives the illusion of wheels slid in on the axles. And it assured I would have no clearance problems with the 50" deck that will go on it.

Looks great! That turned out really sharp. I was pretty sure that Beth (queen of the Quiet Lines) would give it the thumbs up and she did!

Had a 1st for me. Out of all the Cubs I've drug in, then shoved out of my garage('s), I've never had the expansion plug in the front of the rear end housing leak. Well this 1450's PO had smeared silicone about 3/8" thick all over that area. After tear down and cleaning I replaced the cork gasket, assuming they "siliconed" the expansion plug not knowing it was coming from above. But, NO! Since assembled and filled, I ended up with a wet spot! And it was most definitely coming from around the exp plug. I figured since a new plug is installed by "pounding" it flatter, I.E. increasing the diameter inside the hole, I whacked the snot out of it with a brass drift and it appears to have sealed up! YAY! So much happier sitting and looking at my tractor with beer dripping down my chin, than watching MORE expensive hytran dripping on the floor.
.oh, and I got the graphics on as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
