Talking New guy from Western New York

Hey guys, I have been wanting to become a member of this site for some time now and finally pulled the trigger. I have a cub cadet 782 international with the KT17 series 1, 44a mower deck, number 2 tiller, and a 54 inch land/snow blade. I will post pictures tomorrow, I look forward to having access to all this valuable information!

782's are cool tractors.

Where in NY are you? I used to spend way to much time at Watkins Glen driving in circles.

782 is a great machine.. you will enjoy working on it and using it..
Congrats... I remember when they went Red dad took me to the IH dealer to see one.. I wanted one that day... dad said maybe after the 1450 quit.. that was in 1979... the 1450 is still running well but I did finally get a 782 a few years ago!

Reed, That is great... where else today could you find an American built machine that has lasted three generations and is ready for three more??.. It's a piece of American manufacturing history that is gone.. Everything built today is china throw away.
Take care of that 782 and it will take care of you for many more years... enjoy.. send us some pics!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
