Anyone built a poly pipe for lawn irrigation "pipe layer"
For their Cub Cadet.
And have pics to share? I am imagining a hunk of 2" steel pipe with an easy sweep 90 degree bend. Leading edged with steel plate to make like a cutting edge. Coil of poly pipe would be up above vertical end of 2" pipe. My yard is basically grey beach sand and I only have to lay it in 6 or 8" deep. |

May not be much help, but I've watched this video a few times and think it's a cool setup.

I built a cable layer with a long sweep elbow of 2 inch metal conduit strapped to the back of a subsoiler. Pulled it with my Ford 2000. Buried lots of direct burial UF cable. Would easily handle putting in irrigation pipe. Might not have enough traction with a cub cadet unless your soil was very soft, so you might want to rent a 4wd sub compact or larger tractor with a cat 0 or 1 hitch.

I think it will pull it, no problem. If I can pull a moldboard plow 5-6" deep in Illinois clay, he can surely pull a single rip shank 8" in sand. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
