Are you still using 1/4" lines from the pump to the valve? How big is the suction side line?

yup 1/4 pressure side and 1/2 suction side the kwikway stuff on the orig valve is 1/4 inch seems to work fine might be a little faster than the charge pump but not by much i can live with it filles bucket by itself with sod cant ask for anything more will lift till it pickes rear of tractor off ground and no movement between hood and dash so it looks like i got the subframe tied together well im happy

GT, Looking good!

Finally got my 149 home and headed into my garage so I can get started on the sub-frame fabrication.

Not the prettiest tractor, engine had a stuck rod, the previous owner started on the repair, I'm going to bore it out .010 and install new parts. Crank looks good haven't measured it yet though.

This will not be a fast process and will happen as $$$ funds allow, I'm thinking I might have a need for a Plasma cutter to help me along, wonder how my wifey would feel about that purchase?

Bit side tracked on this project, started on the engine rebuild so I could get the tractor running incase I need it as a spare.

Picked up a .010 over rebuild kit and honed the block out this past weekend. Not the prettiest machining setup but it works.

I also picked up some steel tube for my sub-frame and will start taking some pics when I the engine finished.

Yes sir! Got some time today to get working on this project! The loader itself is going to need some serious repair work for my liking. For right now though I'm using it as-is for building my subframe. I plan on moving the control location to suit my ergonomics on my tractor, I'm 5'4" someone had welded on a control support which is not in a good location it will be cut off.

I'm trying to keep the bucket as close to the front as I can, I mocked the subframe up and got it tack welded and back on the tractor to make sure it all suits me. My plan is to tie the subframe into the 3 holes on the frame rail and then add my down-supports to that area like most everyone else has done. I left the bottom rails long out the back for a possible weight rack, if I change my mind I'll cut off the excess. I would like to be able to use my rear lift and hitch.

Had to make my first change, realized my upright mounting would not work with 2" square tube and I would have to make a change, thought it would be easier to use the correct size cross tube which luck would have it I had a piece of 1-1/2 x 2-/1/2 sitting here. Since it was 2-1/2" which was 1/2" higher than the square tube I had to slot out the tube so it would sit in at the same height so marked and in the mill it went for a reduction. This actually makes for a stronger joint and I plan on adding supports. So cut the 2" off and tack welded on the new tubing.

Being this is also a learning process for me to also learn Tig welding I pressed onward!

Also mocked up the sub-frame down supports in cardboard templates.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
