Default FINALLY Got One!!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Finally found and bought a front end loader!!!

Supposed to be a Johnson Loader. I have not found anything yet on it.

Its not all there. Missing lift cylinders and hoses. Control valve froze. Control valve is getting a PB Blast spa treatment right now. If I can get them to free up it will get a 2+ month molasses spa treatment after. Looks like its spent a lot of time outside, as the rust shows. No rot. Looks to be all surface.

PO said it was in a fire. Burned the hoses and cylinders.

Was on a 1000 so it will fit WF QLs with ease. Got to get my 108 finished first.

Want to say Yosemite Sam bought it for me, but that would be wrong. But his money did go from my hand to the PO hand in about 2 hours.

Mark do you recognize the hood? HEHHEEHHE

I will not say what purchase price was but from what I have read, it was probably a "Lew" price.

This will be a subject of many future posts. Please beware!!!

Take care everyone!!

John

Congrats

I've had better luck with Kroil than PB Blaster. A 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone works great too.

Jeff. PB Blast is what I had on the shelf. Got all the fittings off and off the mounting plate. 1 fitting is a large slot for a screw driver and I was not going to try breaking my big screw driver, so I will wait.

Love them T-Bolts!!

Went to Johns yesterday to pick up some snow throwers...

The guy is a REAL stink pot, he told me he had a "line" on a fel, BUT HE WOULDN'T TELL ME WERE IT WAS... Wadda ya think of a guy like that???

Anyway, I'm glad you got it, Betsy and I had a good road trip, stopped in Hannibal for supper on the way back and came through a TERRIBLE storm about 30 miles from home, all in all it was a very good day.

Default Contact Amerequip Corporation

Amerequip Corporation provided me with a manual and parts for a Johnson loader. This was in 2010.

Good luck.

Congrats on your new loader! Have you ever tried Seafoam's Deep Creep? It's expensive ( about $11.00 a can ) but worth every penny. I put just a drop on a rusty bolt and watched it creep right through and out the other side of the rusted nut. You don't have to saturate things like you do with other penetrant's. I also used it to free up a locked up Kubota gas 2182 engine that sat outside uncovered for years w/no hood. Amazing stuff!
I cant wait to see your loader up and loading! Good Luck !

Congrats on the loader!! Like Grampie said...I like the Deep Creep also.. I think it works better than PB. I also use a product called SP3.. it works wonders.. I haven't seen it in stores but they advertise in the back of Antique Power magazine.. I order it 3 cases at a time for my business... they give me quite a break on the price by ordering 3 cases at a time..
Id like to have a loader one day just for the novelty of it... doubt I would use it though, im sure they could be very abusive to the tractor if you were doing any heavy work
Have fun and enjoy it!

Default Amazed and Bummed all at once

Deep Creep??
Yeah!! Bought some today. HOLY SMOKES!!!! Worked like a champ!!! Why have I not known about this stuff sooner!!!!

WELL....... Did some research on my FEL. Found out the original lift cylinders were build for Johnson by Johnson and seems like any current after market cylinders will not fit. I have searched and searched and cannot find any. I found a post by someone on another website giving specs of the original cylinders. So it looks like I may be SOL and have to modify cylinder mounting points to fit "new" ones. Will have to see in the future. Can only do 1 thing at a time. Plan on putting this FEL on my 1450 with a current blown motor. Got the crankshaft back from machine shop. Block is next. Then the rebuild kit. Might as well have an almost 100% tractor to put it on vs. another 1450 that may kick the bucket at any time.

If anyone has any better cylinder info for me, please let me know.

Take care.

John

You may want to check around at your local hydraulic shops... I have two in town that will custom build anything you want... you just need to give them the dimensions the stroke and type ends you want.. may be pricey though... I had one built for an oddball loader several years ago... I remember it was expensive but not out of reach

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
