Thanks Zippy. I reached out to Lew, but he does not have any at this time. So for now I will go with these. Not original, but I like it better than the rubber fuel line.

Has anyone tried to make the oil bath filter brace? Mine was missing. I have the piece that the choke cable attaches to. I don't think it is a huge issue, but I'd like to try and add it if possible.

I could fabricate one for you, but I would need an original one in order to measure all the dimensions accurately. I would also make a cad drawing for future use and make 5 or 10 in case anyone else needs one.

Thanks
Unfortunately I don't have one to start from, but it sure sounds like a great thing you offered. I am sure others would benefit from it. Maybe someone else will chime in. Thanks Bill |

Waiting on a new fuel sediment bowl before I try and make up the new fuel line. This morning I started going through the box of parts for the clutch and got a few cleaned up.

Well, I have run into a snag. It looks like the Collar assembly/Clutch release fitting has been worn unevenly. I am looking around to try and find a replacement. I did exchange emails with Jeff last night and he said he would be able to fix it if I am not able to locate another one.
To demonstrate the uneven wear, I took this socket and drew a line 1/2 up from the bottom and then placed it on the inside surface of the fitting. The line should be parallel with the top which would result in the inside surface being perpendicular to the through hole for the metal bushing and shaft. |

I was able to locate another part to replaced my worn one ( Thanks Lew )and I have a new drive shaft on order( Thanks Jeff). The original one is badly worn where the throwout bearing sits. I had the same issue with the 100 I restored. Also needed a new throwout bearing, and needle bearing.
Today I finally finished up the engine ( less putting on the oil bath filter only because I don't want to be knocking into it). I resolved the sticking governor disk and made up a copper fuel line and managed to bend it successfully on the second try. https://youtu.be/b6bHj16B-Y8 Next step is to get the clutch parts painted and assembled once I get everything. Then hopefully I can do a test drive. |

Looks and sounds great Mr. Job. The correct police are also liking the OE muffler I see you replaced as well, or maybe painted? Anyway, thanks for the video. Great progress

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
