46" GT Deck 321190 on a 1864
The belt on my deck has never run very smoothly. It's not speed dependent just a random vibration, kind of like some weird harmonic. The deck has been well maintained but the spindles are original. They spin free and I replaced all of the idlers and the bearings on the drive pulley.
Just aggravating to see the belt jumping around and not running nice and smooth like the rest of the tractor. Is this common for this deck? Anyone else see the same thing? Suggestions for things to look at? Thanks in advance....

You mention spindles turn/rotate freely but do they have any vertical movement that will give you the problem you mention
If so you may have to put a spacer in to stop vertical movement Oz

I have a spare belt I will try and am going to try to check the balance of the blades. The tension spring is rubbing on the deck which could be causing some of the aggravating noise. I will try to find some hose to wrap around the spring to keep it off the deck. Thanks for your input!

The pins and/or bushings that your idler pullies ride on are probably worn is why the spring is wearing against the deck.
Loosen the belt and check for wear in those areas where the idler pullies ride/spin.
