Very nice work! Thanks for the update and pics.

Very nice job so far

I've got a CCC 782 i'm in the middle of tearing down now. Mine had the dreaded broken rod KT-17 series II which I am planning on replacing with an M18.

I like using the bed liner spray. Works well, i went a little nuts on my 782 rebuild and lined the under side of the hood, frame, fenders, and pannels. But over a year and its still there..

Nice build so far, great job. Paint lools clean.

Good idea to cover up the rust pits, and protect it for the future...

This is beautiful work. Now I know what standard to use when I re-do my 782 in the summer of 2017. Thank you for the updates. Your work is meticulous.

Getting ready to pull this project out of the shed where it's been all winter, move it inside the garage and finish it up.

Got a Spring Sale flyer from Northern Tool in the mail about a month ago. One of the sale items was a John Deere tractor seat. Above the seat it read: "ALL TRACTOR SEATS 20% OFF". I need two seats, so thought this would be a good time to buy replacements.

Went online to find the internet "Sale" price wasn't 20%, but more like 5% off (reg $79.99 on sale for $75.99). I hit the chat button and texted back and forth about the sale. Bottom line: the 20% Spring Sale was just for in-stock merchandise. Oh, ok.

Took another look at the sale flyer. Hmmm. Doesn't say anything anywhere about in-stock merchandise...

Drove to Northern Tool retail store near my work. Asked to speak to the manager. Showed him the Spring Sale flyer and the 20% off all tractor seats ad. I encouraged him to please find on the flyer where these sale prices only applied to in-stock merchandise. He couldn't. I said, "I'll take two."

Oh, the Spring Sale flyer also had a coupon to get $20 off anything over $100. Had 'em shipped to their store for free. Picked them up yesterday. Paid just over $50 apiece including tax to have them sitting in my garage.

WOW! Awesome deal on the seats! I never get that lucky!

Got the dash repaired. I had taken pics along the way, but they were accidently deleted.

Basic procedure: Had another 782 with upper right corner of dash intact. Pulled good dash and used non-shrinking modeling clay purchased at Hobby Lobby to form a mold. Let dry then placed molded clay in damaged corner of other 782 dash. Used a fiberglass repair kit from Walmart to build up layers in the corner. Removed clay and finished up with additional fiberglass and JB Weld then sanded smooth. Had a piece of plexiglass that I cut to form the lip at the outside corner.
Used VHT Vinyl Dye from O'Reilly's thinking it would penetrate the plastic with black dye rather than sit on the surface like paint. Time will tell. Used a Krylon silver leaf pen from Hobby Lobby to highlight the raised lettering and emblems. Turned out pretty good.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
