You can see the witness on the back wall, the first course of blocks was sumerged, my lift was under water, etc. etc. It was a mess.
Where abouts in MI are you?? There was some flooding not far from me, about the same time as you posted this...Luckily nothing happened where I am, but on my way to work expressways were shut down, good thing I don't take that way to work.

Yeah he was in a tizzy because I made him wait 24hrs before putting the drain bolt back in. I told him the red loctite was gluing the helicoil in, did he want the bolt glued in too?

He came by today, power washed the deck for me, then we put the bike back together, he was a happy camper when he left.

I looked at that, but it kinda kinks the hoses a little? I may mess with it some more, one of the hiem joints is still not here yet so I have to re visit it anyway.

Grand Blanc. Yeah getting to work that morning was fun, but my truck is a diesel, it doesn't mind a little water.

No pics tonight, but the hydro lines are done, front axle (from the 2072) is in place. Hydro controls are back in and the steering wheel is back on.

Slowly but surely

Ahh, I'm in Montrose. Luckily I took 475-69 to get to work in Davison...but a buddy leaving from Flushing got caught in the 75/69 flood and was 1.5 hours late to work by the time he found a turn around and went back up to 475. It was pretty amusing. I prolly woulda just went through it too though, cuz my truck should sit high enough to have gotten through without problems.

I'm watching this thread like a hawk cuz I want a Super GT in a bad way and LOVE the red as well, so I totally understand why you are doing it against the will of the others here...I want a 982, but now if I find a good enough deal on a 782, I can do exactly what you are doing. But I'm not too particular about originality, so even if I found something that started off as yellow/white, I can paint it the beautiful red

You are right about kinking the hyd hoses on the ram but if you loosen both the valve fitting and the ram 90 degree fitting without taking them off you can then rotate the front hose on the ram toward the front instead of to the rear like it is now on the tractor as you twist the ram inwards and it will not kink. The rear one is done the same way. With them loosened they are allowed to seek their own tension level and will not kink. I'll bet it is rotten to have to get on your back in the mess to work on your tractor. I hope all goes well with the clean up.

It lives!

Ran it long enough to get it good and warm, then re torqued the heads, and put it all back together. Actually did a little mowing with it! Good feeling.

Thanks guys, it's a good feeling to have it up and running again. Sad to report we did not make it all the way to "sub super" status. I took a close look at the steering brakes, and could tell it was not as easy as cutting the assembly off of the 2072, and welding it on to the 782. The shorter frame of the 782 did not allow enough room. The spot where it would hav to go, was right where the lift arms hang down, and the mower deck mule drive folds up. I took a couple of pictures, maybe they will help illustrate;

The first one is the pivot point of the pedal assembly on the 2072, notice the bracket where the foot board mounts;

Now the same area on the 782, see how the the lift for the deck siccors up, right in the same area? That's not something I wanted to try and alter.

Other than that the power steering is working great, it seems to trun tighter to the left, than turning right? Not sure why that is? I tool it apart and checked the settings, it looks ok to me?

The front hydro ports are on, along with the controls. The hydro valve is leaking some hytran, when the "lift" is engaged, that may need more attention.

I plan to change the oil tonight, and address the front wheel spacers.

One thing I forgot to mention is how much I like the new gator blades I put on the 50c deck. I ordered them way back when, before I blew the engine up, and started upgrading this thing to sub super status. They have been sitting on the shelf, waiting.

I did what everyone on here said, removed the powder coating from the mounting areas, and the leading egde of the blade, installed them and cut the back yard, man that grass looks good!

I had the same issue with the right/left turning and just adjusted the arm on top of the spindle until they were equal. It took a couple of tries to get it right but it was that simple.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
