ok got cast case back put hydro pump on. tempary put pto clutch assembly over hydro shaft . i understand i need to drill cast case for the two bolts{17@18 partstree 433 rear pto} to hold the bearing assembly .now for the pto clutch assembly it has a squair plate with holse in it. my question is what are the holes for is there something that bolts to that or they just extra holes cause this clutch field asembly also works on other michines you can look on parts tree parts number 21 on {433 rear pto} and see the holes.?

Goldie, not to high-jack this thread but you don't need to drill anything. Download the manual from here and it explains it all. You need the 383/433 manual.

From the one picture i saw it ether bolts inside to # 14 or no bolts in outside corners. What r u going to do about the rear diff cover plate that has 3 or four studs coming out ? It does look like that pto was put on a cast rear in a 982. Does the fuel tank look like it will fit ? Dave

well fuel tank will not work . the fuel outlets hit on top of left axle houseing .nothing can be done to make it fit.so that leaves me 2 ways to deal with this .one build a fuel tank to go where the battery is and get some finders with battery under the seat or build me a new fuel tank for under the seat. and for the rear cover with the studes i have the alu. rear plate that i can get the bold pattern from. most likely i will have new rear plate lazer cut. cause the old cast plate has the oil fill plug in the way it will ned to be relocated . i will have new seales here saterday. and al so have appointment saterday with michine shop to drill the bearing suppert for rear pto. good thing only a half mile drive to any place i need to go like cub dealer/lazer cuter/body shop/farm store/the metal fab shop

Are u in this to deep to turn back now $$$? What if u find a aluminum rear that will bolt right in ? In one of my 2072's i have a rear out of i think a 2084, same rear center as 1572 but with larger axle tubes and looks heavy duty. Dave

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
