I absolutely hate wetsanding and buffing but it always looks so good when it's done. Hopefully we find time in the next couple of weeks to get this body back on the frame.

Tim,
Thanks for bring this car and thread back for us! Your work is outstanding!
You have forgotten more than I ever knew about bo0dy work.
Yea 55 and 56 Fords are my favorites too. But the Cub Cadet paint theme is not what I would have went with. It looks sharp and will show very well with those colors too. I just like reds!
I looked at a 56 Vic 2 dr hardtop Sat in Erie. just a nice driver. But a pricy one!
Would like to have another toy in the toy box but since I had the 55 Crown so long I may switch gears to something else.
Have enjoyed watching as this comes together!
Regards,
Chris

Glad you're enjoying it. Here's a couple I just took of it outside when we were moving the body to a different building. If the sun is out you can even look at it without sunglasses.

Tim the paint job is outstanding. Not sure why anyone in their right mind would want to paint a beautiful car like that yellow & white but to each their own.

I was searching images for this car a few months back and found this pic, I don't think the yellow and white looks to bad.

It does look a little better with the chrome on it. Is that factory colors? I remember in the early 60's my uncle Curly had a 56 Crown Vic with the green tinted glass roof and the continental kit on the rear. He put a set of laker side pipes on it. Mom got her leg burned pretty bad getting out the the car one day. Not his fault but he got his a$$ peeled anyway. She never rode in it again. One of those childhood memories you never forget.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
