102 Steering column rebuild
Hello,
Rebuilt the steering column in my Cub 102 today. Don't know if this was done before but I wanted the top of the column to look orignal but also to have a ball bearing instead of a bushing. So I used a dremel tool and ground out the center of the original bushing retainer. Switched to a sanding drum on the dremel and sanded down the lip of the new bearing just a little bit. Installed the new bearing in the column tube and tapped the modified bearing retainer down over the new bearing and on to the column. The retainer now holds the new bearing in place and once the steering wheel is installed it will look original. Have a good day!
