You really need to have the engine numbers to get the proper one. The early aluminum ring gears were replaceable but they are NLA. I had to buy a used flywheel just to get the proper ring gear for one then drill out the rivets, then drill and tap my flywheel in order to bolt the used gear onto it. Run into something like that on a toro self propelled hand mower,tejunkski power TNT 120.
bought it in maybe '72 for Mom, has a 12V starter on a 20" mower.
Mom was around then, and she liked the key starter, as she could not pull the rope.
Long story short it liked to eat nylon starter pinions.
So I found a metal pinion. no more pinion problem till it knocked a tooth off the aluminum flywheel/ ring gear.
so much for that idea.
That old mower is still in the barn, like a lot of stuff I need to get rid of.
