Fm didn't become popular till the late 50's, and in vehicles in early 60's
I remember it well.
Snap, crackle & pop might have been a breakfast cereal, but it was the norm for AM radio and FM was not long distance, once you got 25 miles from town, you lost FM in a car, so you listened to AM.
It seems like yesterday, but was a lifetime ago.
