Kubota Exhaust manifold to head studs
After mowing several hours last weekend with the 1782 the engine suddenly changed sounds.. did a little quick investigation and discovered the exhaust manifold was leaking where it meets the head. two out of the three studs on the top row have broken off. the front one is broken down flush with the head.. the 2nd one back broke with a good bit hanging out..
My question... has anyone here had experience with these.. I am a mechanic by trade so I am very familiar with methods for removing broken bolts.. just never had any direct experience with a Kubota.. wondered how soft or hard the studs were. Or if anybody has a sure fire way to get them out before I start drilling and welding nuts to the remaining stud. They have been there since 1990 so I doubt they will be willing to let go easy!
Thanks for any help or suggestions!!
