Clear glass container

So many times I read on here where someone cleaned their carb 6 times, filled the tank with gas, got good flow to the carb, but it still won't run good. Catch some of the gas in a glass container and see what it looks like. Water being heavier will come out of the tank first and settle to the bottom, see attached photo. Two years ago I bought a 782 that sat outside for awhile after blowing the engine. I drained the tank into a gallon milk jug and got about 2 qt. of water and 1 qt. of gas.

Sure wish mine would, it would make trips to the gas station easier. :biggrin2:

That's a LOT of water! Good reminder. If I ever pull the fuel bowl a second time off a piece of equipment and get water both times, I clean the tank.
