364 snowblower install questions
I’m trying to install this 364 snow blower on my 1912, I figured out I’m missing some parts. I downloaded the manual from here. I’m missing the guide bracket for the front which is no big deal, a couple pieces of angle iron and a bar and I think I can make one. I put the belt on but the alignment of the main pulley and idler pulley is a little off from the PTO pulley. The manual says for some tractors (not mine) to turn the idler pulley around. It was last used on a 1711 so I think it should be in the right orientation to fit my 1912. It is repowered with a Kohler M20, so it should fit the same as the 1711 I would think. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

When the Onan was removed, did the engine plate need to be drilled and the M20 moved back so that a new longer driveshaft was not needed? I'll try and get some measurements on my 1914 with a B48 in it, to see where the PTO sits as compared to the front of the frame.

No, because it’s the plate that came with the Kohler. The driveshaft was not swapped.

Some pics of what I’m dealing with, it’s single digits outside and windy, I did the best I could. The last photo, look closely and you can see the PTO hiding up there, sticking out about 1/2” further than the snow blower pulleys.

I decided to take a few minutes today to hook everything up and try it out, we might actually get some snow tomorrow. Results were not good. As soon as I engaged the PTO, it threw the belt right off. The alignment is an issue and I don't understand why... the engine is mounted to the plate in the right holes.

Thanks Lew. I had the manual already, the other part is some corrections to the manual, but I don’t see anything related to my issue that would fix it. I’m starting to wonder if I have a 418 bracket instead of a 419… :bigthink: That wouldn’t make sense though because it came with a 1711, that had the mounting brackets on it. The 418 has a 6.5” drive pulley and the 419 has a 7”. (Or the other way around? I may be misquoting). I measured mine and it’s 6.75” so inconclusive there. My idler is the right size, 4”.
