Liquid fertilizers

1 Attachment(s)
While I was at Tractor Supply today picking up glyphosate for my summer spraying I picked up some liquid fertilizer too;

https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...ents-2-1-2-gal

My plan is to dose it up with a little 2, 4-D and spray it on some of the, very small, fields that I've mowed over the past week. Typically if I was spreading granular, I would wait till we were forcast rain to spread but I'm not sure about this stuff.

Anyone with experience with this?:bigthink:

It says you can mix it amine base herbicides.....

20-0-0 would be nitrogen only. Says it treats 15,000 sqft. An acre is 43,560 sqft.... so it isn't going to cover much area.

If you are spraying 2-4-D with it, unless it has a surfactant, or depending on what surfactant you use, I'd do it at least a day before a rain. Some chemicals can be sprayed only an hour or two before a rain and still stick..... but like I said, a day in advance is safe.

I have used that before with 2-4-D.. it works well on my lawn.. I put out roughly 5 gal of it on close to 2 acres.. just beware.. it will really make the grass grow when it rains!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

:bigthink: Hmm.. So when do you spray?? During the heat of the day, when things are dry, when rain is coming?? :bigthink:

You spread it pretty thin then if you are only using 5 gal.
Not that you have to put it on at the recommended rate....because you don't have to. I'd rather go less than too much. Too much nitrogen will burn the grass.

Interesting what a difference that makes...:bigthink:

This past week I spot sprayed Garlon on black swallow wart. First time I added a surfactant and wow! Sh!t was black in less than 24 hrs, and didn't touch the surrounding grasses. :ThumbsUp:

Surfactant and crop oils---definite game changers.
