Elec PTO on 1x8/9 series

Any one ever put an elec pto on in place of a manual?

It can be done but only if the the block has the threaded holes to bolt the PTO on.

There is also at least two differant bolt patterns that Im aware of. K341 is bigger maybe???

Well I have a 169 - I assume then I'd have to drill the block?

If it's the original engine then you would need to drill and tap the holes, if it's been replaced it's probably already tapped. What's wrong with the mechanical PTO?

Nothing is wrong with it. But let me give you an idea where my heads at. I am confident your familiar with the 364 blower which (with a 418 kit) attaches to a quietline. I have a 418 kit off a 1650 and wanted to see how it fit on the 169. It fits well but the idler pulley on the kit hits the arm for the engage/disengage. Thus if I had an elec PTO I could remove said hardware and theoretically be good to go.

This is all brainstorming at this point **

I'd be assuming your 169 starts with a starter generator (maybe not), but if you drilled and tapped and replaced the manual pto for electric, how would you start your engine or charge your battery??

Good point, I didn't even think of that when I responded earlier.

Easy solution. Just buy a QL cub cadet.

Probably the easiest, and most cost effective option.
