Snow blade modification.

I have a 129 hydro and have been wantin a snowblade for some time. Someone gifted me a 42” snowblade , it’s in good shape but no labels and has a completely different mounting bracket than what goes on my cub. I really want to be able to modify this plow to get it to work, anyone have any ideas? Or maybe any leads where I can get the cub mounting brackets and cut this thing up to make it work? Or maybe know if another plow for sale? I have access to a good welding shop. Thanks for any input ..

Where are you in Maryland?

I’m on the eastern shore.

Well.... that narrows down an area. I'm in southern Illinois. Care to guess exactly where? Town. How about the name of a town..... I happen to know where a NF blade is a guy wants to sell in Maryland. But he's south of DC. You would have to modify it too, but it wouldn't be that hard. Easier than mounting the one you found.

Here's one, but I have no idea how close to you it is. Check C-list. They are all over Maryland.

No reason to make one. The guys I know out that way have no issues finding front blades.

I have a similar MTD blade that I wanted to adapt to my WF 1811 but J-Mech talked me out of it so I decided to drive a few hours to buy the correct blade rather than spending a few weekends messing with the MTD blade. I'm glad I got a proper cub blade. I used it for the first time today and with my broken foot I couldn't shovel so my cub snow plow saved the day.

Find one on craigslist or ebay for about $100 to $150. A shop in Annapolis called Edgewater Mowers has a few cub blades but he wants $300.

Denton is the town. Thanks for the tips, I found a guy in PA that has a dozen or so cub plows, so I’m gonna take a trip and snatch one up. I'll post some pictures once I do.

If he has that many blades maybe he has seen this lift bracket. I think it fits a narrow frame and I'd like it to find a home although if I hang around OCC much longer I'll have my own NF cub (or two).

The blade I got had several problems that I didn't notice at the time. Look them over real well to make sure you don't get a dud. Make sure the following things aren't rusted away or mangled:

under-frame mounting points
pivot points
quick attach pins
clevis pin holes
skid pads
blade angle pin
blade tilt lock pin
scraper edge
lift bracket (for wide frame)
lift rod

I already told you that wasn't for a NF. It's not like the slotted hole for a NF or a WF. I'm 99.999% sure it's for a manual lift LT. some of the LT's used the same blade, just with a different mount on the back, and different lift bracket.

Are you saying it won't fit a NF or it didn't come on a NF? I say, "If it fits, it ships!"
