Welders

Okay, got an email on these. What do you guys & gals think about them? They come with a 1 year risk free trial & money back guarantee.

Mig, Tig & Stick for $800.

What do these people do? Do they take someone else's design, send it to Chinatown and remanufacture it under their name?

I'd give the one for $800 a try. Probably be fine if your not doing commercial welding.

Most likely it is re engineered in China.. Just for the record I have never seen anybody have much luck with anything electrical from Harbor Freight if it is used hard or daily.. It would probably be ok for homeowner/hobby use.. Especially if you can try it out for a year with no risk.
I have two Miller machines that are 20 and 25 years old... never gave me any problems at all.. BUT, I depend on these machines almost daily and I have a very good Miller dealer right around the corner. I can stop in there any time and get my supplies and very good advice if I do have an issue..

Personally I'd spend a little more and get a machine for a lifetime.. but that's just me.. I certainly wouldn't blame you for giving these a risk free trial.. they appear to be about half price from a comparable Miller..

The Miller inverter welders started showing up around here about two years ago.. and man I can tell you they weld nice!!:beerchug::beerchug: I want one bad... but It's hard to pony up the 1100 dollars for one.. I would be interested to know if you try one of these out..

I would be willing to bet it's a re engineered China Miller..

I'm along the thinking of jaynjeep. Maybe for occasional hobby use but what if there is a manufacturing defect?

I have a Hobart Handler 187 mig welder and a Hobart combo welder ( stick / TIG ) and parts are still available for both of them plus support.

Minus welding gas cylinders, I got both for $1200 ready to weld.

I'll stick to my Miller Mig:beerchug:

the Miller welders are the best for the money....heck, they even can make a beginner look good.

I have a snapon and a millermatic, would not bother with anything else, however I still have may fathers Lincoln 240 arc welder (buzz box..for us old guys...LOL)

I've never seen these before and I guess that is a new line for them. I was just seeing if anyone owned one or used one. It's half the price of an Esab 252i or EMP 215 but I'm not sure that is enough savings to justify it.

find yourself a used miller, well worth it. I got my 180 for $700.

Miller and Hobart have the same owner now. Miller parts are direct fit on my Hobart 187

I will add that Harbor Freight seems to be improving and adding to their product line rapidly.. Their new product lines seem to be headed more toward the professionals... but the prices are going up considerably also. Their new pro line of cordless tools are very close to Dewalt prices..
