Model # label location??

Help! I bought a new Cub TankSZ 60KW. I have looked all over, up , under, inside outside that mower and cannot find the Model/Serial# tag. Called the dealer, he said the model number is "SZ60KW."..duh. I cannot register it for warranty without these numbers. I paid a chunk of change for this zero turn, and want to protect that investment.
Anybody have any ideas? I looked at the official Cub site, the tag is supposed to be under the seat...the only tag under the seat is the tag for the seat , model and serial....

Model and serial number is prolly on the receipt you got from the dealer.

You could also take it back where you got it and ask them to locate the tag for you.

If they can't find it, then I would ask to exchange it for a machine that does have the tag or for a refund.

I'd say that's it. The Model numbers are usually longer and not necessarily the "model" sold at retail.

From the looks of it a 2016 is Model 17BSDGHD010

Is that what is under the seat? I doubt the seat has it's own SN

Zero-turn model and serial number plate is located on the underside of the seat.

Model number will begin with 17.

WHAT SHOULD MY MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER LOOK LIKE?

Cub Cadet's current (1997 and later) model and serial numbers are generally 11 characters in length. A character could be a number, dash or a letter. If 0 represented all numbers and/or dashes and X represented all letters, the model and serial numbers should appear as follows: 00XX000X000

The tag under the seat is the seat part number, there are also tags on each of the two gas tanks indicating part numbers. I looked these numbers up, there are part # tags all over that mower. The model number of the mower , would indeed begin with 17...
This is a Commercial Zero Turn SZ60 with a 27 hp KW engine.
My sales receipt is pink, and handwritten, it is a cover all receipt for Case, Cub, Toro .
My next step would be to call Cub and go through a lengthy process to arrive at the correct numbers.
Thanks for all of the input, it is appreciated.

My guess is that if the dealer can't give you the info your best bet is to call Cub. They should be able to track it with the engine serial number. They also should have records of what machines went to your dealer. Good luck and keep us posted. :bigthink:

Very interesting. I'm curious to see what you find out too. You'd think it would be right where they say it is.

Perhaps the label got left off.. Or maybe the seat was damaged during transport and they didn't move the tag to the new one.

Thanks for the input. I saw a video on YouTube that showed the tag on a different model zero turn under the deck cover..once I figure out how to lift it up, I will look there.

Beyond that, calling Cub tech for help. Thanks for your interest, and I will keep you posted.Who knows, maybe it will help someone else someday??

Here's the scoop...my model/serial tag was under the deck cover. So glad I found the YouTube video .
Hope this info helps others. Attached are the pics of close up label and long shot of location.
Thanks again for all of the input!
